Recover your account

For when you have lost your authenticator app and your recovery codes. If you still have a recovery code, sign in with it instead - that works straight away.

The same password you use to sign in. PayMe asks for it so that reading your email is not enough on its own.

What happens next

  1. PayMe emails the account address to say somebody asked. Nothing about the account changes, and two-step verification stays on.
  2. Somebody at PayMe reads the request and decides.
  3. If it is approved, there is a waiting period of 24 hours before you can finish. That is there so the real account holder can stop it if the request was not theirs.
  4. You finish it yourself, with the account password and a link PayMe emails. Nobody at PayMe can do this part for you - approving a request removes nothing.
Warning:

PayMe will never ask you for a code

PayMe will never telephone you, email you or message you asking for a verification code, a recovery code or your password. Nobody at PayMe can see any of them, and nobody at PayMe can turn two-step verification off for you.
